Founded in 1981, Plan Toys are the world’s first and largest manufacturer of recycled wooden toys. Over the years they’ve become known for their simple, well-made, brightly coloured wooden toys tailored for children from birth to early childhood. Plan Toys pride themselves in their status as a green company and are constantly striving for materials and production methods that are safer, cleaner and better for the environment. This includes the use of rubber wood, recycled from trees used to make latex, which is grown in chemical-free soil for three years. The wood is then treated with a chemical free kiln drying process and the pieces are stuck together using non-formaldehyde glue, coated in non-toxic water based dyes and inks, and packaged in recycled or recyclable materials. All toys made by Plan Toys meet or exceed UK and International safety standards.
